My focus

Ok, I have just racked my brain trying to think of something that would be a good "deadline" for me; I'm not really into the competition thing, if I could find a sport around here to get into, I would be interested, but I can't run, its physically not possible for me; I swear I twist my ankle every time I do, and I've always been that way. Even in high school. So, I'm focusing on the personal trainer thing, with the nutrition thrown in there, and of course, no one wants a fat personal trainer, but I couldn't think of how to put a deadline on that (once you pay for the course, you get 2 years to complete it). So...I'm still working on it...

Reaffirming goals

SEPTEMBER 2007

What do I want?
I want to lose 20 pounds of body fat in the next 12 weeks. I want to do it slowly, safely and healthfully and then keep it off permanently. I want all the fat around my hips and thighs completely gone and I want a firm flat stomach. I want muscle all over my body while still looking feminine. I'd like to see myself at about 16% body fat and maintain all my muscle or gain a few pounds of lean mass if I can, especially in my arms. This is important to me because I want to set a good example for my kids, I want to be healthy and live to at least 90 and I want my husband to look at me and say, "I love your body," and I want to be able to *honestly* say back to him, "me too!"

Daily Goals -
* I am eating 1600 calories a day, split between 5 meals, every three hours, with proper carb, protein, and fat ratios at 50-30-20.
* I am drinking a gallon of water a day to hydrate and purify my body
* I am waking up early, after a good night's sleep, feeling well rested and energized.
* I am working out daily with my husband, doing cardio every day, and alternating strength training and flexibility workouts
* I am no longer drinking carbonated sodas, not even diet
* I am following my weekly menu plan, and only eating cheat meals when they are planned.

Weekly Goals -
* I am so glad that when I weight and measure every week, I have lost 2 pounds of body fat, and my body fat percentage has decreased by 1/2%
* I am working out cardio 5x a week, strength 3x a week, and flexibility 2x a week.
* I am making weekly menu plans to follow for nutritional support

3-month goals - January 1, 2007
* I am so glad to have lost 24 lbs of body fat, bringing down my body weight to my half-way point of fat loss, with more energy than I have ever had.
* I am constantly learning, reading new things and trying new things that help me on my path to a better body, in better health, with more energy to be the person I know that I am, a better mom, a better wife

6-month goals - April 1, 2007
* I am so glad to have lost another 24 lbs of body fat, bringing me to my goal loss of about 50 lbs, with a body fat percentage of 17%.
* I look good in a bathing suite at the swimming pool
* I look good in camisole tops and shorts
* I eat 5 meals per day with proper ratios of lean protein, carbs, and fats, always on time at 3-hour intervals
* I stay well hydrated and purify my body by drinking a gallon of water every day
* I deserve to be healthy and super fit.
* I am developing clean eating habits that are so ingrained in my lifestyle that they stay with me for the rest of my life.
* I am so happy and thankful that I sleep good and feel well rested in the mornings.
* I am striving every day to achieve my personal best, better than I was yesterday

Ultimate long-term goal -
* I am a sexy 60 year old, or better, and I have more energy than before, and I have no problem keeping up with my kids and grandkids!!!

January 2007

My goals are still pretty much the same, I want all this same stuff!! I need to find a bigger motivating reason; so far, I feel like the only reason I want this is to look good. I'm not that interested in competing (yet, anyway), it just seems like it would be such a blow to the self esteem to not be considered worthy, you know? I just don't want to set myself up for that. So, I am still searching for my reason; I am leaning more towards being a personal trainer, and having my own personal success story that will help bolster that, but we will see. My end goal is not so much "weight" oriented as it is body fat percentage and measurement oriented. I would care if I weighed 170 lbs if I looked like this

12-week goals -
1. I have lost 20-24 lbs of fat, and 7-10% body fat, bringing me to 22-20% body fat.
2. I have continued to improve my eating habits, and drink mostly water, at least a gallon a day, and drink my tea without sugar.
3. I have maintained my workout schedule as planned, and have no problems doing my workouts, because I love them!
4. I do research and learn more about good nutritional habits, eventually getting into the personal training program at ISSA (money is an issue here).
5. Throwing in a personal goal here - I will have all my credit cards and my one student loan paid off in three months time, leaving only the one bank loan and car loan left to pay on.
6. WE will buy a house of our very own (renting now) by august 2007, with all our outstanding loans paid off (except car).
